What's the status of Rpro 9? Is it ever going to be finished?!? We've been hearing about it for so long but it always seems to still be off on the horizon. On that note, how is Island Pacific doing after that unfortunate bankruptcy ordeal?

We are hearing good things about V9, but each retailer needs to evaluate it to see how it would improve that
business's bottom line.  V9 has some great reporting tools, and some improvements in polling.  It's also on a
much beefier database, which means that most retailers will need to upgrade their hardware.  

With any software, there is always a need to evaluate how it will affect the business in two ways:
1.  Will the software streamline or improve my operations?  Will it enable me to process orders faster, require
less staff, etc.
2.  Will the reporting tell me something I don't know today, that I can use to become more profitable?

You need to make sure that the answers to those questions are yes.  If they are, then evaluate further.

Island Pacific is no longer a player in Retail Pro.  As to how they are doing financially, I'd look at the reports
online.

hi.
will, i install the RPro V9 it has some improvent in Polling and reports'
but there still way to go to fix many issue, specialy if you still using Rpro V8.

for me, i rete V9 4 Out of 10.

Hi I have a problem with retail pro 9

When I try create a gift certificate, i going to tender amount,  i scan the barcode for the gift certificate and introduce the amount for this gift certificate. The problem is when i try to buy with the gift certificate because when i scan the gift certificate for sale the merchandise the system not read the value from this gift certificate, whe need that when the customer get to make your purchase with the gift certificate, and the cashier scan the gift certificate for charge the merchandise, the system tell me how much money has this certificate.

How can me make this process???

Please help me!!!!

Hi Jair,

First, I'd check with your dealer to make sure you are on the latest version of Retail Pro 9.  There are many bug fixes in the works right now, and this sounds like a bug to me.

If you are, then you most likely have discovered a new bug, which again should be reported to your Retail Pro dealer so he/she can get it fixed for you.
